Until now, I've only watched public schools "from a distance" because I had NO first-hand knowledge since my son graduated from high school almost 20 years ago. My 15-year old daughter is now in public school for the first time. Of course, I've seen the "output" of our high schools for the last 35 years as a college professor.
I myself haven't been in public school for 45 years. Frankly, I don't see much difference in my daughter's education and mine except that they don't have blackboards in the classroom any longer although a technological revolution has occurred in that time! My point is that I wonder what is impeding innovation in education? Perhaps, teachers need some INCENTIVES to INNOVATE!
